Damascus Friends Church

The heartbeat of our church is to bring people closer to God. So, whether you’re checking out the website, planning a visit, or are already a part of our DFC family, our hope is that you would come to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.

Apart from our Sunday morning experience, DFC has a variety of groups available. We’d love for you to check out a little more about each of them and find out what God is doing here at DFC.

Welcome Home.

We Exist to Bring People Closer to God.

Our vision for 2022 is derived directly out of Acts 4:

First, Prepare. We will be intentional to be with Jesus and worship passionately both privately and corporately. This means that we first have to be with Jesus more and do less activity and events.

Second, Pray. We will lift our voices together in prayer primarily in our small group ministries which we will emphasize as often as we possibly can. We hope all our people are praying together and involved in small groups.

Third, Proclaim. We will live and speak boldly for Jesus in our families, in our communities, in our schools and in our places of employment.

We believe God is our Father.

We believe Jesus Christ is “the Word…made flesh” for us.

We believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Strengthener, and Guide.

We believe the Bible is the written Word of God inspired by Him.

We believe a person receives forgiveness through repentance for sins and belief in Jesus Christ as savior.

We believe the mission of the Church is to communicate the Good News of salvation to all people, everywhere.

Our desire is to share the hope that is found in knowing Jesus. We are not religious. We are friends of Jesus. Our methods will always change. Our message will always be the same.

Mark 16:15  |  Col 1:28

We have a heart for ALL people. No matter how far from God people seem, our desire is to bring them closer. People can belong before they believe. We are a hospital for sinners, and not a hotel for saints. We love everyone.

1 COR 10:24

We live to give, and we give because God gave. We are generous with our time, our talents, and our treasures over and above what is required. Our hands are open for God to pass his resources through us.

2 COR 9:10-11a

We believe excellence breeds influence. We hold high expectations and take our effort seriously. We are prepared, and we are on time. What we do is not as important as how we do it.

COL 3:23

We serve to give and not to get. From the parking lot to the platform we serve with a focus on others. Our positions are different, but our team is united. Small things are big things, so we steward each position with value.

MK 10:43-45 | 1 COR 15:58

We are vocal with our encouragement. We honor and submit to those in authority over us and we honor those who are under us. We do not talk about people, we talk to people. We always have each other’s back.

Rom 12:10 | Phil 2:3-4

We are intentional about our passion. We worship and serve with enthusiasm and energy. We are passionate about our mission.

Rom 12:11 I Eph 6:7

A good offense is the best defense. We will not sit back to defend but fight to advance. We believe the church is God’s plan to bring home the wandering and we are proactive about it. The aim of our charge is love.
